When you book a trip several months in advance around a full moon, mother nature is in charge at that point. The fish at Broseco are very strong fighters like Fork and Falcon. We booked 2 days 4/19 & 4/20, due to heavy thunder storms on the 20th we had to cancel for safety reasons. My partner and I caught 30 fish total with an average weight of 4 lbs on 4/19. They ranged from 3 to 6.5 lbs. Biggest 5 were 21lbs for me and 26.5 for him. We harvested 6 fish below 16 inches and lost 3 fish fish that were big girls. No lines were broken and no hooks were straightened out. They were on their beds and just moved the bait off the bed without dealing with the hook. Best baits were weightless lizards and worms due to the slime moss, Color is not an issue, use bright when it's bright and dark when it's dark. Think twice before bank fishing, there are wild hogs that are attracted by the fish feeders. They can put a hurt on you in a hurry according to the ranch hands. I saw a bedding area with fresh scat and got back into the boat.We would have done VERY well on the 20th if the weather had not changed. After passing the learning curve post front, another moved in with a vengeance.
