Fished Weston on 6/11 in the afternoon. We arrived in the middle of a driving rain that lasted about 45 minutes, the skies cleared up and had some nice cloud cover. I've experienced super days and zero catch days after a rainstorm.
The boat- great set up. The trolling motor positive lead to battery was a bit too small for my battery post. Fortunately, there was a jumper cable clamp in the boat that we used to affix the lead to the battery post and it worked fine.
Fishing- The bite was very, very subtle. We boated a dozen fish, biggest 2.8 pounds on Senkos during a one hour period. Probably took 45 minutes or so for the first bite to happen. No topwater or spinnerbait action at all. The fish had lock jaw afterward. We threw everything we had. The water on the south side inlet creek was flowing hard.
A wedding occurred outside and the reception/dance was in the barn. Never have experienced that while fishing! Geese broke into a chorus of squawking once the wedding began, it was a very humorous set up.
Another solid day on PWF.
