Fingerling
Fished Friday morning with a buddy. Had perfect overcast skies, were on the water by 6am, and had ZERO air movement. Water was very murky with about 6" visibility. We tried all of our topwaters, got a few slaps, but nothing in the boat. For the first 3 hours we had a total of 3 fish, one of which was a catfish caught on a T-rigged lizard. Go figure. Near the end of the day I finally landed a nice one right up in the reeds on a Flashy Owner rig. She was 6-7, and had a very nice acrobatic jump while I was bringing her in.
I was surprised that all of the lily pads on the north end were completely gone. And I mean, completely. Not a single one in sight. This was a defining feature of this property when it first came into the club; in fact, my drone footage is on the website of that visit, and the entire north end was covered in pads.
I hunted for Marty Newman's DD girl, but alas, no go. Maybe next time. :-)
