Fished the afternoon with my son.  The bite was slow.  A little wind may have helped.  Only had 5-6 bites, no crappie.  Mainly fished the grass close to shore and some tree laydowns.

Fish of the day was caught by my son,  2.5 lb bass on a frog (his largest bass ever and 1st success with topwater.)  Since, he is not an accomplished fisherman yet, he was using a whippy rod and closed face reel. . . What a thrill to watch him have to fight the fish out of the grass. 

I have fished this lake a couple of times and it looks like some great water;  unfortunately, I have not found the formula to catch numbers out of it yet.  Threw spinners, traps, frogs, chug bugs and flukes.

All said, a great experience with my 12 yr old son . . . who loves this lake and can’t wait to come back and catch more on topwater. 

P. S.  My tackle box is now missing a white frog!
