Fished here Wednesday evening and Thursday morning.  Took my parents along.  My dad fished with me and my mom just sat on the back porch and read a book.  First, a really beautiful place.  The guesthouse is really nice and the owners (and their dog) are really friendly people.

Now the fishing…we found it to be a little tough.  Bluebird skies and bright sunshine.  We caught almost nothing, maybe a couple of dinks fishing the shoreline.  Tried cranks, plastics, spinner baits, and topwater….nothing.  Just before dark on Wed night, I threw a RatLTrap towards the middle and caught a 5lb fish.  Within 10 minutes I caught 2 more, a 3.0 and a 3.5, also from the middle.  Nothing else until dark.

Thursday morning on the water at first light, very calm with mist on the water.  Tried topwater and not a single blow up.  Fished the shoreline and middle and nothing until about 8:00 when another cast to the middle of the lake with a RatLTrap produced what I first thought was a snag (I could feel my line on a limb) that started to move.  Caught my personal best, an 8.5 lb fish.  Awesome.  Later, started throwing a worm again and caught 2 dinks and then hooked another really nice fish in timber that immediately wrapped my line around a stump, so I had to break off my line.  If you catch one with an Owner hook and a pumpkin Senko in it’s mouth, let me know how big it was.

Beautiful place, I will return.  Will post a pic of the 8.5 lb fish.
