We had a blast this past weekend catching those Broseco bass.  The vegetation had died back considerably from where it was last year which made it easier to fish.  There were new Mossbacks added also since the last time I'd been out there so we had plenty of targets to throw at.  We ended up searching some of the central portions of the lake for bigger bass in deeper water but never found anything deeper than ten feet.  The usual baits did the trick….  The biggest Senkos you could manage, jigs with a craw trailer and Carolina rigged creature baits with some Spike It on the end.  We kept our focus on the fish cities…..  Anywhere we saw the white PVC poles we spent plenty of time and it paid off.  The total number of bass was over 80 but the remarkable thing was there were only 14 culls.  I feel I can safely say that around half of our fish were 4 lbs or more which speaks to the health of this fishery.  We started off weighing everything over 5 and then quickly realized we were spending too much time weighing fish and just waited for the freaks to come along.

I'm very happy to report that my buddy Tim had the biggest freak of the weekend and his new PB at a whopping 8.84 lbs.

I brought my electronics out there and was just amazed by what I saw.  There are large schools of shad, thousands of bluegill and frequently a lurking giant or two right below them around some of the transition areas of the lake.  The number of bass we marked was off of the charts.  Thanks to the Broseco crew and thanks to PWF for keeping the pressure down.  We had and absolute ball.

Tight Lines,

Jackson

Way to go, Jackson! It's difficult to imagine that kind of fishing success in the summer - at least in the USA. You did well, my friend. Congratulations.
