Fingerling
Fished Martin Mills this morning. The site is remarkably "fish-able". The water line is slightly down but the weeds are not the constant problem they can be and you have good clarity. Light winds and only high 80's as I got on the water. Worked along the dam and west shore using a chatter-bait with little success. Made it to the east arm and worked the pads with a frog…....Wait for it, wait for it… bang, great fish that goes completely air borne right in front of me and gone! Heart stopping and heart breaking. Hey, thanks for the show! Continued around the lake using a verity of presentations and caught 6 in the 3 1/2 to 5 lb. range as well as a few dinks ( some of the smallest fish I ever hooked at MM.). Well its hot and time to go but really…. one more toss with a worm at that brush pile. Wait for it….. band, great fish, biggest of the day, she goes completely air borne right in front of me and gone! AAAAAH, heart stopping and again heart breaking but where and when do you get that kind of rush? Got to call this a good day! Yeah, time on the water.
