Fished Gallant Elms on August 26 and planned to gush most of the day. Started at 7AM with several top water lures, but as usual there were no takers. I also had prepared for this and switched to shallow crank baits and caught a 3# almost immediately. Started running the edges of the grass beds that worked previously and caught a total of 6 with 3 being culled. Then the bite totally stopped around 10 and I tired multiple lures, but no takers. With no bites by 11:30 I decided to call it a day.

Did ya watch over at the dock for those big ones.. I still dream about that lake and the action we had. I need to get back and try again. Life is a balance of things , trying to keep the flame lit on a 47 year marriage and coordinating my fishing priorities. Going to hawaii to see if I can break my PB for Ahi (Yellowfin Tuna) and Blue Marlin. I think better chance on Marlin than Tuna. Tuna are tough as they struggle to get back into the school. If somehow we are headed back towards Gallant Elms I'll let you know. Thanks again for your tips on Gallant elms my son in law is still begging me to go fishing again.
