We (a fishing buddy and I) fished Lake Side this morning. Red sun, cows up and about, lake like glass but a nice cool morning. Water level is at pool with fair visibility. Started with chatter bait and a frog along the damn… nothing. Moved to the west shoreline, still nothing so I switched to a swim bait and wham! Beauty, really nice fish. Just a few moments later another good fish. This continued as I hooked the fist five fish and was about to give my buddy grief and a tip. Tip "lose the plastic… crank bait in 8 ft depths"....... Unbelievable, a five fish limit right at 38 lbs. ....Who's the guide??? I was so glad for him, some of the best fish he or I have had in the boat. He checked the APP. and his last fish was just in the secondary time window. I caught one last nice one and we left the lake, high five-ing and patting each other on the back. You just can't beat time on the water and really can't beat an unbelievable time on the water. P.S. we're going along and boom, something rams the boat. Then a fish shows it head. Big, I mean carp big, 30 inches or more. Not a bass, or cat fish and it doesn't look like any carp I seen….... any guesses? Weird!
