I had not been on the water since April due to back problems. Almost forgot what a good fishing day was like.  My wife and I headed to 9G Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, and launched in a slight breeze and air temp in the high 60's. Slight ripple on the water with lots of vegetation still on the bottom and around the edges.  We found smaller fish in the cove near the boat ramp, and the larger fish up to 4 lbs. along the dam and in deeper water around 12-13 ft. These fish love to bury in the grass when hooked, so 15-20 lb. test is a good idea. Almost all our fish were caught on weightless senkos.

My wife had a really good fish dive into the grass and finally come out right near the boat and wrap up in the trolling motor and break the line.  Broke more than her line…broke her heart!  The morning yielded 15 healthy bass, several in the 12 inch range, a few 2 - 21/2 , and the rest at 3lb.or so, up to 4 lb. I have found 9G ranch to be as reliable as any of the lakes I've fished in the club when it comes to healthy, hard-fighting bass….reliable like an old friend!
