Fingerling
My wife and I fished Yates Place on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning. The heavy rains of a month ago missed them completely and the lake level appears to be a couple of feet or more low. Daytime temps were in the mid-eighties with mostly bright sun. The 70"s we anticipated vanished quickly. We had to work for the 12 fish we caught, but all but two were over the minimum and very strong and healthy. Three best fish were 6, 5 1/2, and 4. The best bait was a shad colored square bill. We did get a couple on a chartruese pit boss creature bait and a black/blue jig. Most were relating to visible stumps and brush. Very grateful for the privilege of fishing a trophy lake like Yates Place where you never know what might be hiding beside the next laydown, plus the pleasure of visiting with such wonderful hosts as the Yates.
