My son and I arrived at Rough Creek on 11/11 about 8am for a full day of fishing. The sky was overcast and we had high hopes of catching big fish and a lot of them. The 4th cast with a rattletrap and I was reeling in a solid 3 pound brawler, game on. Not so fast though, it turned out to be work to catch the 17 fish we ended with. The clouds went away early and the wind shifted to the north with HIGH BLUE skies. The fish were scattered and mostly small. The most productive bait was a Texas rigged watermelon Lake Fork ring fry, we went up and down the east and west banks and each trip produced a fish or two. A few bit on a watermelon red senko. My trusty KVD crank bait did zippo. The creek channels produced only a couple fish each. Great day to be on the water with my boy in a great setting!
