My son & I fished hard for 5.5 hours in afternoon. Fish active on top all day long (surprisingly). I may have used top waters a bit too long early. Saw fish on locator in most areas. Not hungry tho. Perfectly calm, bluebird skies and a poor boat captain may have been the problem. The lake was like glass much of the day. My son caught a dink on a green jig on a brush pile to left of owners home and lost a bigger fish nearby. I was targeting big fish using big baits and was shut out. Not a one on senkos, T-rigs, spinnerbaits, top waters, frogs, CB's or anything else we threw. Still looking for my first Whopper Plopper fish. We harvested the one bass.
A big 'Thank you" to Tom Dillon who gave us some"pregame" tips and areas to fish. I felt like he gave us a “blue print” for success!
The grounds were meticulously maintained and the boat, trolling motor and live well all worked just fine. Very comfortable.
My 27 yr old son was excited on his first jig-fish! Like me, he understood the opportunity to catch a huge bass on every cast. Nervous anticipation on the drive down. Time flew by.
We had a nice chat with Mr. Yates. He came down and checked on us early in the day. He said the lake was 2 ft. low and was hoping for some rain. After we unloaded the boat, he gave us a tour of the cabin. Great day on the water even if we did miss one of the best Cowboy games of all-time.. Hard to believe this was November and 68 degrees. We will definitely return and get 'em next time. Hope to bring whole family and stay in beautiful 2BR cabin. Sorry, no fish pics to post, but here are a few:

Might have been the Supermoon, they probably all feed during the evening.
