Fished Canton-Horseshoe on Saturday, 11/26. Didn't really know what to expect with a fishing report not being out on this place since last November (main reason I'm submitting one). When I got there, I tried using the boat available but wasn't able to. The hull was full of water so I tried emptying it. After emptying enough water to where I can move the boat (I was solo), I noticed a nice sized hole in the bottom. So I decided it probably wouldn't be a good idea to take it out.

But now about the fishing…I really liked this lake, nice country. The water was tea color stained, maybe darker. Being able to only fishing from the bank I don't think I was able to reach the deeper pockets of the lake. So I carried around 3 poles. Texas rig lizard, whopper plopper, and a soft shad swim bait. I caught 4 on the swim bait and 1 on the lizard. 4 of them were about the 1.5lb range and the last one was a little over 2lb.

Once the sun broke it appeared the fish were starting to be a little more active. I just didn't want to stay too much longer (left at 2:30) since I didn't have a boat to reach a lot of the lake. But this place looks like it could be great in the spring with all the lillies that border it.

Next time I will be sure to have an alternate route for a boat. But all in all, not bad.
