Took a good friend, Gary Whisenhunt, with me to Kyle for a quick morning of tube fishing.  It's nice having a property within an hour in Austin now, and I'm planning on using it more in the future.  It was a nice morning for late November, and bunches of ducks were on the lake, which were fun to watch pitching in and out of the property.  The bite wasn't nearly as good as when I was there in the summer, probably due to a weak cold front coming through earlier in the week.  And it always seems the fish are more sluggish in the winter.  We fished from the dock all the way up to the dam and back, which is a long haul in a tube.  Good thing I brought Gary, as he caught a nice 3 pounder in the sunken boat near the dam on a jig (see pic).  He also caught one other fish on a rattle trap and missed a nice one on a crank bait.  Other than that, I only caught a 1 pounder on the middle of the lake on a TX rigged worm.  I guess you could say the fish weren't exactly jumping in the boat, but at least they were swimming around in it.  It was an enjoyable morning, good for exercising my legs and maybe my patience a little too.
