Well the forecast called for SSW wind at 8mph today…wrong!  It blew sustained 15 with much stronger gusts. Lakeside is completely exposed to the wind as the area is totally flat. Despite the wind, I managed 25 bass up to 5.5lbs. Most fish were in the 3-4lb range with only 4 under the 14" slot. Lipless crank and a medium diver were the best baits. I only had 1 bite on a jig but it was the biggest of the day. I also saw the biggest grass carp I have ever seen. That thing must weigh 40 pounds!

Hey Jess.  Great day.  Love those jig bites.  There is something about setting the hook on a jig that just angers the Bass.  Re the wind gusts. BassForecast app, which uses Accuweather was calling for gusts of 15 mph yesterday.  If you haven't yet downloaded.  It is a great trip planning and on water resource.  Very accurate.  I have not fished Martins Mill yet.  Need to try it. We did fish Twin Lakes nearby yesterday and had a great day too.  Cheers
