Got a break in the weather on Jan 2nd and hit up the Rough Creek Lodge location. Started out in pretty gusty wind condition so headed for the northwest creek (on the lodge side) to hide from the windy conditions. Landed a fish on a 3/4 oz mesu swimjig with a black and blue trail work. After fishing partner had 3 fish in boat and another couple looks on a green pumpkin lake fork French Fry fished carolina style I bought in to that rig. (8-10ft of water) We had consistent action on that all day fishing the edges of the Lilly pads on each side of that creek. As the day grew later the wind died down and we had modest success fishing the creek on opposite side. We went back to the creek on the west side and picked up where we left off. Overall we boated 20 healthy fighting fish all in the 1.5-2.5 range and each had a god one break us off in deep weeds or stumps. Picked up a hand full of fish as the sun went down near the southwest corner of the damn near the boat ramp. Good way to start the year off.
