Fry
I fished the east tank of Ben Wheeler / Twin Lakes on Friday afternoon, and all I can say is, “Wow!” We got there about 2:30, and it was slow for the more than an hour. First I hooked a good size fish that put a real good bend into my 8 wt. fly rod. I was palming the reel as he dove down and got off after he went into the weeds. Then around sunset I caught the biggest bass of my life. Didn’t have a scale, and didn’t get a photo, but he was in the 10 lb. range. He measured 24” and was so big my friend was able to stick his fist in his mouth to retrievet the chartruse Sneaky Pete he swallowed.
I’ll definitely be back, next time with a camera and a digital scale.
