I am a new member ,,,,maybe a couple of months now. I have fished a couple of lakes in the DFW area. Have had some success. I have to relate an experience I had at Triple J Lake in Ferris….just down I45.

On short notice I decided to go fishing…..nice afternoon that day so I called Bryan and he hooked me up for an afternoon trip to Triple J. I had the half day afternoon trip. Upon arriving I noticed there was another member and his young son there…they had the mornng fish booked. As he was loading up and leaving,,,we visited before I entered the property…just to make sure who I was he asked me what the lock combination was. I hadnt reveived my card yet in the mail So I began to fumble around in my vehicle and finally found the paperwork I had printed with the lock combination on it. I exchanged that information and continued talking fishing. He shared what info he had with what baits to throw and where, I didnt have any of the particular soft rubber baits he was using ...so he just gave me the rest of the package,,,,6 or 8 left in the package. I was quite thankful as really that was a nice gesture on his part. He and his son were very nice hospitable folks.

I didnt catch many fish that day….but did have a wonderful experience, I met nice members and agreed totally with his questioning who I was,,,helping to” member police” so to speak who fishes the lakes Mr. Alexander and staff work hard to attain. In addition I met another member who was gracious enough to share information and even give to me tackle from his own tackle box. If this is indicative of the membershp in PWF….I look forward to meeting others and being a member for a long time.
Thanks PWF…

Jerry,

Great story. The membership is great and frankly I am suprised how little we have to police our membership. But, it only takes one “mess up” by a member to get our club in hot water with a landowner. Sometimes, hot water means the loss of a property. I am thrilled to hear a fellow member asked for the lock combination. By the way, it is unusual for us to have 2 reservations on the same day for the same property. Probably happens less than 2% of all reservations.

Jerry, we plan to have another club fish fry in the Spring; where members can meet with one another. I think the 20 members who attended the last couple will attest what a great time we had.
