John Shepard and I arrived at the property Sat 2/18 at 7 AM. We were greeted by the owner Greg who shared some lake information with us before we set sail.

We started with hollow bellied frogs at the boat ramp and were bit right away which is what Greg told us. There is a narrow 14 Ft aluminum boat at the property that we used to get around in, it was ok but has a slow leak and not something you would want to stand up in for sure. Greg said he would patch the leak when we were done.

We stayed till 3 pm catching 20 nice healthy 2-4 lb bass and 7 very nice fat crappie. We should have boated more bass but we were a little rusty with the frog bite and they didnt seem commited to it all of the time. We threw a lot of stuff to see what worked best and the frog and plastics won out. We caught the crappie on swimbiats, meps brass colored spinner bait and small square bill crank bait.

Water is a very clear dark tea color 3-4 ft visibility. Lots of vegetation around the edges that would make bank fishing very tough.

The directions to the property were spot on and would be easy to launch most anything on a trailer as long as it is dry.

I would give the property two thumbs up for sure.

John feel free to add.

I agree with Ron's summary.  The landowner, Greg, seems to be a good addition to the PWF "family".  I'll be returning.

On the subject of the primrose vegetation; the rim around the lake is thick but good habitat for bass and forage.  The issue at this point is how thick the vegetation is in the southern shallow end of the pond where the feeder creeks enter.  It will be hard going to get very far back there with a trolling motor snagging the strong root systems. A kayak may get further.

All of my frog bites were in open water a few feet from the vegetation or in large holes in the vegetation.  None were through the vegetation or in small holes.

For those who would like some good crappie, the ones we caught were all good size.

The owner is addressing the mechanical removal of some of the primrose in the back creek. We do not want to remove it all, just reduce is a bit.
