Well we went to Julian right after the front blew thru on Friday night. It definitely fished different than other trips to Julian.
We always caught a few from the dock before starting out. Not this time. Zero. It was cold and windy. Very Windy. The lake was very muddy less than a foot of visibility. We got in the boat and caught one on the first pass along the dam on a fluke. Fishing was slow all morning and we only caught 7 or 8 nice fish. After lunch we started throwing red spinners and we ended the day with 25 fish all nice 2 to 3 pounders.  I guess we found out we were fishing and not catching as we usually catch 50 or more from Julian. It was still a great day and we used up a battery charge fighting the wind. I’m sure the vibration from the spinner blades helped us in this muddy water. You got to love this site if you fish for numbers and not trophies. Thanks to our hosts Bill and Helen Julian for sharing this wonderful pond with us.
