Member Mike Svoboda and I fished Yates Place on Saturday afternoon (3/18) and Sunday (3/19).  We had nice weather with overcast to partly overcast skies on Saturday and Sunday morning.  But the skies cleared Sunday afternoon and it was hot, especially for a day in March.  The water temp was in 70-72 degrees and water clarity was about a foot.   We had a great Saturday afternoon in terms of quality fish caught rather than quantity.  We caught 11 fish, of which 2 were harvested.  The six biggest fish were an 8, 6, 5 1/2, 5, 4 3/4 & 4.  They were caught on a big spinner bait and Senkos.  A chatter bait also caught some fish.  Best spots were straight across the lake from the boat dock along the edges of a hump and around the cove and point to the right of the dam.  Sunday was a different day.  We caught 24 fish of which 16 we harvested.  We did catch two big fish, a 6 1/2 & 4 3/4.  They were caught on Senkos and a lipless crank bait.  The big spinner bait didn't catch a fish on Sunday.  The same spots as Saturday are were we caught the fish.  We caught very few fish in shallow water.  Dwayne said he did not think the fish had spawned yet.  This was a surprise given how warm the water was.

We stayed in the house Saturday night.  A first class place.  It doesn't get any better than walking out the back door onto a deck and then down to the boat .  The lake is beautiful and the property is immaculate.
