Fished Caresend on March 10th with a partner.  cold morning and not a bite for first hour.  then it warmed up and sun came out and we had a solid day.  Most every fish came from banging the shoreline and finally caught some good fish on the dam, which has not been good to me in the past.   Lake is very muddy.  I suspect well under a foot visibility.  However in shallow water with a dark plastic (biffel, craws, lizards - really didn't matter) texas rig with tiny weight, we had plenty of success.  The only downside is we did not get a fish that was a true 8 or better.  Best was 7.98 dripping wet.

We did not count the total fish but here is what we know.  We harvested 4 fish under 16".  Our best 5 weighed 35.78.  Our best 10 were 66.67 lbs.  We had a few bass that were exactly 6.63.  We suspect our total was somewhere around 50 fish.  As highlighted above, it got to be a bummer when we caught another 6lb class fish.   These fish could have been on beds but we could not see well enough to know, so just a lot of speed casting working every shoreline aberration.

What a great property though.  Careful of the filamentous algae, it was bad on windy shorelines and the fish did not seem to be around it much.  Maybe more fish on north shores but we caught em from one end to the other of that awesome fishery.

We had some trouble here and on Elizabeth a couple of weeks later with the batteries.  I have now heard they are buying deep cell marine batteries and hopefully on board chargers too!

Thanks Steve!!
