A quick report of this week’s trip to Yates Place since you pretty much know the routine out there – my wife and I fished Monday evening, spent the night in the lake house and fished a good part of the day on Tuesday.  Major storms all through the night on Monday – but thankfully calmed down to just a steady rain by about 8 AM on Tuesday.  We stuck it out in the on-and-off rain on Tuesday and had a good time.  Water visibility was down to about 12’’.  Fishing was slow but steady enough to keep you interested and the great thing about that lake is that you never know…so you better pay attention.  Landed 19 bass, harvested 6.  Biggest 5 went 22-3.  No real pattern – scattered fish, about half were offshore and half were within 20 ft of the bank.  Best fish was on a swimbait.  Most fun fish – spinning tackle, ¼ oz Pop-R and she took off, peeling drag until she wrapped up under a branch, a few tense moments later she was tuckered out and backed out the other direction!

Goes without saying how nice the lake house, the boat and DeWayne and Kay (and Sassy) are!
