22 April. Got to the lake at 0700. Almost had to turn around and go to the emergency room, but that is another story!  Conditions followed powerful storms the night before and were overcast with a constant 15 mph wind, mid 50s warming up to low 60s. Lots of Hydrilla in the lake, and that is where the fish were. Started off with frogs and Texas rigged black worms in the vegetated areas and off the banks with limited success (caught a large crappie on a frog! - a first for me). After some experimentation, a black or watermelon weedless wacky rigged Senko fitted with an rubber "O" ring cast about 10-20 off the timbered shore into the Hydrilla brought in about 30 2-4 lb fish. Largest was 4 lbs 13 oz. Along the dam, the wacky rig and the crawfish rattle trap brought in over 20 more with the rattle trap having the most success - but, off the bank of the dam, not 10-20 feet out. Braided line not really needed to deal with the hydrilla, but the color (green) worked well with the water color and vegetation. Over 50 fish for the day. We noted that the large mouth in this lake have a little more than the usual "rough sandpaper" for teeth, they drew blood on several occasions.

I’m with you James! I love that mangled thumb.  The fish at Timber Lake have the same “teeth”.

I agree, 9G bass do have teeth!  Hard fighters too and same goes for Timber.  ...Are they of the same genetics?
