We had a great morning fishing Rough Creek Mallard Lake today. We caught 30+ fish and they hit nearly everything we threw, flukes, senkos, lizards, cranks, plugs, swimbaits, frogs, and my son had some fun throwing a crappie jig and wearing out the small bass, bluegill, bream, hybrids, and crappie. We boated (3) 4 lbers, (1) 5 lber, several 3's and the majority of the rest were in the 1-2 lb range. I had a 6+ come unbuttoned just as my son was trying to scoop her up in the net.

The bass are strong and healthy here. This is a great numbers and quality lake and we will definitely be back.

Tip: As others have mentioned, once you check in at the lodge, drive back out and go back across the small bridge and take the first dirt road to your left. About 100 yards and you will see a "boat ramp" sign on the left. Launching our small 10 ft bass buster was a breeze.
