Fingerling
I fished from 6:30 to 11:30 am on Saturday, July 8. I caught 15 fish to 5 lbs, all healthy and freaking excellent fighers. Man. They did not want to come to the boat. Can't blame them really, but as a friend used to say, "If I had a hook in my mouth, I'd come in easy." The lake is in great shape. The water is at normal level, visibility to 3 feet. Weed and lily pad growth is pronounced in the shallows, but the lake is very fishable.
I caught them on the usual summer pattern: poppers and senkos early, TX-rigged worms later. A couple strikes on crankbaits, but no enthusiasm, and nothing trolling the channel. The bite slowed about 10 am, but I caught a nice 3.5 lber at 11:15 am to finish the day.
I'll be back!
Tight lines!
