Fished Gallant Elms on Saturday and had good success with top water and standing timber. Caught about 30 and culled 13 of those. The largest was over 4# and I caught several 3# and the rest of the keepers were around 2#. Now for specific details:

Air temp.  74-95, around 4PM storm clouds appeared, but it only dropped the temp and had a nice breeze. It was mostly clear sky the rest of the day.

Water temp: 83-87

Clarity: 3-4 ft.

Successful lures:

Ribbit frog (white/chart)

Rattletrap

Square bill crank (blue, black, white) caught the 4# on this

Chatter bait

Unsuccessful lures:

jitterbug

Senko

Paddle tail

Spinner

Tom. Thanks. It had been awhile since top water was successful here. I probably missed about 6. One hit right beside the kayak that felt very large and took the lure straight into the grass so it got off.
