Went back to Bennett Lake on the 22ND for a full day of fishing.  The day started and ended the same, caught a bass on my first and last cast of the day. Ended up catching 42 bass, 1 catfish and two large bream. Caught allot of bass between the 3-5 lbs range.  Lost two huge fish that were dragging the boat around the lake until they came unbuttoned.  I ended up keeping 15 smaller males since all the females are fat with eggs right now. The trick to fishing Bennett is to find the shad, bass are schooled up chasing the shad everywhere.  The last couple of hours they pushed the shad to the top and started exploding on them, at least 3 schools blowing up at the same time.  I used a wide range of lures to catch the bass on, Carolina rig fluke, scrounger head with a fluke, Sr5 shad rap, Norman razor minnow, and a rattle trap. Wish I did’nt spend so much on xmas or I would be going back next week. Awesome lake, I just need to find the crappie.
