One of my favorite things about PWF is the opportunity for me and my son to spend some quality time together. No electronics. Just enjoying nature and the solitude of fishing. We decided to get one more trip in before school starts.
Weston is very convenient for us coming from Richardson. A beautiful property with a nice boat. it has 2 pedestal seats and a trolling motor. All you need is a couple of marine batteries.
We hit the lake around 6:45. Not much top water action so I went with my go to: T-rigged weightless senko. Wasn't much sun up in the morning so I went with the watermelon. Landed a healthy 5 pounder out by the PVC stakes (which mark the brush piles).
About an hour later my son caught his PB. A beautiful 7 pound LMB at the base of the trees in the little cove by the house. When the sun came out we switched over to the black and blue senko. Ended the day with another 4, 5, and 3 pound LMB by the PVC marked brush piles. A great Saturday morning with my boy! Looking forward to the fall and cooler weather.
