I had planned to fish all day Saturday and today, but yesterday simply wiped me out. i fished hard for 12 hours, throwing pretty much every lure type, and all I had to show for it was 10 bass: a 5-12, one 4-00, 2 threes, 2 twos, and four harvest fish. Water temp rose from 77.6 to 85.0 while I was on the water. Visibility was about 18-24".All fish caught (and a few that I didn't boat) were holding close to wood.
As always, the Yates did everything possible to make it a successful trip, even going so far as to cut and help me fit a some marine plywood to try and keep my trolling motor from slipping off my boat.
What worked: wacky-rigged, weightless 5" Senkos in black/blue flake, shad-pattern squarebill, chrome/black back Rattletrap, green/white vibrating jig - all 3-pounders and heavier fish hit the wacky-rigged Senko.
What didn't: 7" Senkos, 5" Senkos in any other color, 10" T-rigged worms, creature baits, spinnerbaits, 8" Hud, deep crankbaits, other-colored 'traps, Hollow body drogs, topwaters, T-rigged lizards,
