This was my first outing in two months. The forecast 6-10 mph wind turned into a steady 10-15 mph. I caught 14 from 8 -11:30 am, all very healthy fish, and good fighters. Size distribution was a perfect bell curve: one 4-lb, two 3-lb, several 2-lb, on down to dink size. I caught them all over the lake, best baits being small crankbait and TX-rigged worm. I got a couple hits on a frog and popper, with one good 3-lber on the popper. The 4-lber came from the shadows on the steep bank in the lagoon just across from the ramp right at 11:30 am, the last fish of the day. The only place I didn't catch anything was off the dam, which was surprising, because it looked good.

The lake has pronounced pond weed in the shallow areas, but the fish were hiding in there, so the worm was a good bait. A weightless kut-tail got no action at all, surprisingly. I think they wanted a faster drop.

Tight lines!
