I showed up to Elizabeth at 7:30 Friday morning (it's a 3 1/2 hour drive from my house) and started catching some fish immediately. My son had a bye week in his football schedule and an 8:00 class so he showed up about 10:30. We caught 16 nice fish with 3 over 5 and Michael caught one over 6. Very healthy with pot bellys. We broke for lunch and came back about 2:00. To say it was tough would be an under statement. I think we managed 4 fish the entire afternoon. Left about 7:45. Came back the next morning with two of Michael's football buddies and we stunk it up! Fished from 6:45 until noon and caught two dinks. I , like many fishermen , love to tell about big bellied bass and lots of em but I will also tell ya when I got my butt kicked. Elizabeth beat me down this time but I will be going back for revenge! We caught fish on soft plastics, rattle traps, squarebilled crankbaits, underspins, and a spinnerbait. The funny thing is fish were busting all over the surface but wouldn't take a top water bait of any kind. We even resorted to crossing under I-30 for a look. No fish there but we did see 8 hogs in the edge of the water rooting around.
