Wife and I stayed overnight Friday in the wonderful little lake house at Lake Side and fished for much of the day on Saturday.  We did not put in a LOT of hours but were on the lake on-and-off from 7AM to 7PM.  We had very few numbers to show for it, but I will say that harvesting has worked for producing a quality catch.  Only landed 8 fish – only 1 dink, the remainder were from 2-3 to 5-11.  All healthy, beautiful fighters.  Really fun when the 5-11 on spinning tackle spun the light jon boat around and had Pam going in circles trying to keep the pressure on.  The lake size is really condensed considering the heavy vegetation and pads (dying) covering half of the South side of the lake.  Water is very clear, probably to 5’.  Sky was partly cloudy with light to variable winds.  Conditions were excellent overall.  We really could not pattern anything except to say maybe shad-imitating, moving baits.

P.S. Lunch at “The Forge” in Ben Wheeler is a very nice break in the day and I can definitely recommend it.
