Took a nice half day trip to Black Hat Thursday afternoon. Arrived at noon and fished for 3 hours catching just one by the dam on a crankbait.  After a quick break I headed to shallow water and pitched a pumpkin red senko about a foot from the bank of one of the 3 islands. First cast produced a healthy fighting  2 pounder. Fished till six staying with the dead stick pattern and caught another ten more from 2 to 4 lbs. I never expected them to be on the bank but that was the trick. Bottom line was that I fished hard with a bunch of baits and only the trusty weightless senko worked and only on the north end in shallow water.
