Clear skies, Wind sustained 15+ from the North
Water temp 59
I fought the wind all day long and gave my trolling motor a run for its money. So much so that the battery was down to one bar by the end of the day.
22 total, 15 culled, biggest was 3.5. Tried everything. Only success was slow bouncing of plastics along the bottom. I thought fish would be deeper but everything caught just off the grass. Fish see spread all over the lake.
Given the wind and no desire to run out of battery in the middle of the lake I walked the edge for 90 minutes or so. Had good luck in the section of the lake not accessible by boat. They are hungry over there. Two requirements to fish there though: braid and some bait that is durable enough to get dragged through brush. You have to throw over brush to get to the lake and drag fish through. I had 65lb braid and a rage bug. Both worked well even in the gin clear water. Not for everybody but if you want a sure bite and good sized fish I’d make the effort. Happy Thanksgiving all.
