I went fishing on Friday the 5^th for about 7 hours at Bennett Lake.  It was a good day overall, kept 23 bass within the mandatory slot, caught around 45 bass altogether.  The water was a little high and stained do to all the rain and snow, water temp was in the mid-upper 50’s.  Caught all bass in less than 3-4 foot of water, some were in the process of spawning.  Early in the morning was the best fishing, later in the afternoon when the sun started warming things up a lot of the bass started sun bathing and got real spooky.  As for lures I caught fish on everything I threw, but the main lures I did the majority of the damage with were a soft swim bait and spinnerbait.  Bennett Lake is a really nice lake and full of healthy bass and I can’t wait to go back again
