Went back home to visit a friend and have a Super Bowl party. Got up the next morning (2/5) and headed to Brushy Creek. The front had blown in that night and dropped the temps. Conditions were overcast with the temp being 46 degrees. Water temp was 53 degrees. Light wind. We didn’t really know what to expect given the weather change and being the first time we’ve ever fished there. Got out there around 8 and started with Carolina rig, jig, and Texas rig lizzard. Caught one in about 2 hours. Decided to head towards the damn and change it up a bit. Switched to nothing but cranks, jerks, and spinner bait. Caught 7 on those set ups the last 2 hours. Throwing them towards the rocks on the dam. Nice lake, looking forward to visiting again.

That is fantastic! Good for y'all for getting out there and braving the cold to catch some TOADS. Love to see our lady anglers showing the men how it's done.

Way to go, Bryan! Those are some really nice fish for that timef year. I know how difficult it can be to stay focused wjen it's cold like that. At least (it looks like it, anyway) the wind left you alone. Congratulations on your hard-won success!
