My son and I had the pleasure of fishing Waco Creek for the first time on Jan 23-24. This place is truly amazing. Although on our two days of fishing the wind was from the North or East at 8-15mph, we caught some amazing fish. We fished primarly in the creek channels close to the deep water. In the late afternoons, we just followed the bass breaking on the surface. We caught most of our fish on deep diving crank baits in various colors. I truly lost count of the fish over 4 lbs that we caught. My son caught his largest bass to date at 7 lbs even. I personally caught and released 10 fish over 5 lbs., and the whole two days of fishing we only caught 1 bass under 2 lbs. These fish are extremely heavy bodied and put up a great fight. I have fished a number of properties and this is by far my favorite. The property owners are very nice people. The lodging was perfect. I would highly recommend this property.

If you liked Waco Creek, your next stop needs to be Longbranch, Yates Place then Lake Leon! Yates is a smaller lake, but I think you will be extreemly pleased with the fishery and the accommodations are outstanding.
I’m headed to Waco Creek this Sunday and fishing Monday so you got my attention. Thank you for the information. I will post as well upon our return.
We are all happy that the weather is starting to cooperate. I think we are going to see some Big Fish soon now.
Happy Fishing—Mondo Man.
