Fingerling
Spent the afternoon at Oak Meadow Lake with my son and brother, prior to going up to Coalgate for our annual get together up there. This new property is a gem. As previously reported, you can catch solid 2-3 pound bass almost non-stop. We fished for four hours and caught 35 bass, only a couple of dinks, and most were over 14". Mostly fished motor oil TR worms. None were caught at the dam, or even on the dam side of the lake. Most were caught near the edges of weeds up the arms of the lake. Largest was 3.5 lbs, so no lunkers, but they were real fighters. I read reports of large black crappie being caught here so after a few hours I switched to road runners to see if I could catch one, and the bass wouldn't stop hitting the road runner, so I gave up on the crappie. We quit around 5:00 and headed up to Atoka for some BBQ at Billy Sims (highly recommend, the ribs are awesome) before going to Coalgate. Oak Meadow Lake is a great property, and we thoroughly enjoyed fishing there.
