It was a slow morning on Beaver Lake, 6 bass, all male under two pounds, scattered around the lake in no particular location. The vegetation is now very thick, covering the entire bottom, in many areas expansive enough to reach the surface. The water remains very clear, the water temperature 69-71 degrees and the wind was a steady 14-15 mph from the north with gusts to 18-20.
I saw no spawning beds or male/female pairs, however all the fish were taken fan casting in shallow water with fast retrieve over the vegetation using a white chatterbait or a wacky rigged green pumpkin senko.
What worked: white chatterbait and wacky rigged green pumpkin senko
What didnt: buzz bait, HBF, swim bait, dark colored chatterbait, beetle spin with white grub, rattle trap, Texas rigged worm.

Even with the lower than normal temperatures, I would expect the spawn to be 99% over. In normal years it likely would have been over 2-3 weeks ago. But, we have been much cooler.
