Lions and Tigers and Bass, Oh my!  we made the trek to Sulphur Bluff.  Started out to the right of the dock and caught 4 or 5 fat females (3 to 4 pound) still holding the roe. Then we got lured into the timber which was a mistake at this time of year.  We caught a few but not much action. I mean there is alot of timber to fish. Put two and two together and started to fish the dam on the north side. Which at this time of year gets the direct sun to warm the water. We were throwing YUM Houdini Shad (watermelon). We started catching nice males in the 3 to 4 pound range.  They are starting to build the beds as their tails were showing signs.  These were caught 4 to 5 feet from shore. We also caught 4 or 5 at the dock on Chartuese and red crankbaits. In all we caught around 25 fish for the day and no dinks. Everything was in the 3 to 4 pound range.  I got a feeling this will be a killer lake on top water once the water warms up a tad and clears up. Slightly muddy (2 to 3 foot visibility). This lake is a keeper.  Met the owner who was very friendly and helpful. One last thing I think they will be on the beds in two to three weeks if we can get a little sunshine. There could be some real hogs to pull off the beds throwing a tube or lizard.
