I'm a little behind on this report; but I believe that everyone should take the time to help out fellow members by posting (even a short) fishing report for every trip they make. OK, off my soapbox, and into the report.
I fished Lakeside on 5/9 and the morning of 5/10; stayed in the cabin the night of 5/9. Love the cabin, and everything about it is perfect. Very clean, and all the conveniences of home, and 100' from the lake. Doesn't get any better than that. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to use it.
The fishing was just OK. As you know if you've been there, the wind is not your friend, and I had a strong wind both days. Fished till noon the first day, and only until 10:30 on day 2. I could have caught many more if I could have used a weightless senko or fluke, but that was not possible. No real pattern; caught fish on several lures but not a lot on any one lure. My best with a 6.98 on a black buzzbait along the west end of the dam on Thursday morning. I had 3 more that were between 4 and 5, with 30 total and only 5 harvested. As usual, the best deep water was the brush pile just to the southwest of the pier. On average, I caught one fish from that area each time I passed by it.
Water was very clear, with lots of coontail growing. Water temps were 77-82 while i was there.
Had a great trip (even with the wind); great place to stay and good, fat, healthy bass.
