Keeper
Had a fun morning fishing with my nephew. Caught about 14 with largest about 4.5 lbs. We caught more before 7am than after.
Caught first fish on second cast of my Whopper Plopper. Went left up the creek, caught a few half way up the main lake. Wind kept us off the main body of water but we had a great time overall. Caught them on Whopper Plopper, Pompadour Jr, weighted Super Fluke in natural colors, and watermelon seed Senkos.
One interesting thing - caught a bass on a weighted Super Fluke and as I removed the hook I noticed two antenna sticking out of its gullet. Tugged on them to reveal a dark red crawfish! This was one aggressive bass - hadn’t yet swallowed a crawfish and it was feeding again!
We met Danny, the owner. He welcomed us and told about some big catfish they had caught there. 20 to 32 pounds!
The property is quite nice, one of the best maintained launch areas I’ve seen. Recently mowed, rock road from gate to water’s edge, no trash. We backed our trailer into the water easily which we can’t do at many properties with our 2WD truck. Large mesquite tree provided shade for lunch.
This lake should be a destination for any angler in the central Texas area. We had a great experience there.

Excellent report, Larry. Glad y'all did well. Thank goodness for mesquite trees, right?
