Fingerling
I arrived at Lakeside at daylight on Wednesday morning with cloudy skies and a forecast of scattered thunderstorms and rain.. The thunder never materialized, but the rain did. I got in almost three hours of fishing before the deluge began. Light rain at first which turned to a steady downpour. I got under the covered dock thinking the showers would pass but it only got heavier, which finally spelled the end to my fishing day. Before the rains came I managed about 10 fish, including three over 5 lbs. a 3+, three in the 2+ range, and three harvest fish. Two of the bigger fish came from the lily pads on a hollow-body frog, and the other on a Carolina-rigged watermelon magnum lizard in deeper water.. The lake level was down about a foot or two from my last trip here in April. Good day in spite of the rain!
