Fished Thursday 7/6 in the morning we got to the lake at 7am and immediately lost a nice fish in the tree where you put the boat in the water. Let me start with the facts before I get into the report. Lilly pads and moss are actively growing out to 20 ft off the bank, both fingers are choked with pads and moss, water temp was low 90’s and visibility to about 2ft. We started out working the edges and catching a few dinks that went into the basket then started looking for deeper water, that was today’s secret I caught 4.1, 4.3, 4.4, 4.5, 4.7= 21.4 sack, I was blown away. I have never in my life caught such quality/quantity of fish in my life. What didn’t work, chatterbaits, frogs, SBCB, deep divers, swim jigs, what DID work was TR worms in dark colors worked slow in the deepest water you could locate. You could not work it too slow, my partner would make 3 casts to my 1 and I was the one getting bit. We didn’t stop catching quality fish, the rest of the morning we caught additional 13 fish. We weighted everything other than the dinks, we weighted 31.7 lbs more ranging from 3.11 to the days big girl 6.2. for a total haul over 50 lbs, Ohh… this doesn’t include the 4-5 that spit the hook or got off with us trying to work the net. Beautiful property and fantastic fishing, the cars and trucks on the road and the cows mooing were our only distraction other than yelling “get the net”.
Tight lines y’all
