7/14, fished with member and friend Mike Roberts and two other buddies, go on the water and fished from 8:30-5pm with a little hydration break in the middle.

Fished outside of Creek channel by the cattle crossing with good success early, chatterbaits, drop shot and swim jigs. Worked the dam shoreline with limited success on spook and rattle trap, lost a pig on the spook.

Light to moderate breeze made the heat bearable but as the day wore on we felt the fish had moved into the deeper holes so we set up by the styrofoam marker, using the locator we marked some humps and worked these areas with drop shot and Carolina rigs. Biggest fish came out of these areas. Action wasn’t what you would call hand over fist but enough to keep you interested.

I think of the two boats we managed over 50 fish, all bass and two crappie with one very chunky bullhead.

Overall a Great Lake with ton of forage fish:

Baits that worked:

Chatter, rattletrap bream, swimjig bream, drop shot wacky senko watermelon, Carolina rig creature baits in watermelon and crawfish.

Didn’t work:

Spinner baits, Texas rig, swim baits, squarbills

All fish were super healthy and eating well.

A really good day and now need to go buy more sun screen.
