Fished Brushy Creek with fellow PWF member Steve Carpenter the morning of July 20th. We both got on the water around 7 AM and started packing-up around 11:30.
Conditions:
water temp: 87
water clarity:
- mid-lake: 0 ft
- launch area: 3 ft
air temp: 77-90
sky: clear
wind:
- mid-lake: became very gusty (10-15+) after 9 AM
- area around launch point: none
I caught 6, a 5-8, 4-2, 3-0 and the rest between 2-3 lbs (no photos). I did not have any cullers. The key was color - Sexy shad, fished fairly fast. The 5-8 was caught in the mid-lake area in about 8 ft of water. I was moviing from the south to the north side and was using a rattletrap and did not expect to get a hit - was I wrong (and glad I was). I did have some success with the rattletrap along the dam.
I think Steve caught 6 in the 2-3 lb range.
Other items:
- the small pier at the launch point is gone
- to the left (west) of the launch point there is a fairly shallow wire panel (looks like a cattle panel fence section) so be careful as that could ruin your motor.

Where there any particular areas you caught more? I know you said along the dam but any other spots? Did you mainly fish moving baits? So sexy Shad rattletrap?
Thank you for always posting, they are always helpful!
