Fry
I fished Malouf for approximately 7 hours. Water temperature was 58 degrees and the clarity was good. Action was immediate and fairly consistent except around noon. I caught approximately 16 fish 9 of which were below 14 inches. The largest I caught was 2.5 lbs. I had at least four over two pounds. Nothing large but all were excellent fighters.
One thing I did notice was the shape of the bass. All seemed to have a slight football shape which may indicate that the removal is having an effect. Or they could just be filled with eggs. Of the half dozen lures I used, I only caught fish on two. Initially, they seemed to prefer a soft plastic motor oil crawfish immitator. After a few hours I switched to a soft jerk bait (again motor oil) that seemed to be getting some aggressive bites.
