It was Foggy, windy and cold. Started by throwing spinner baits (white and red) no takers. Switched over to Crank baits no takers. Got in the boat went over to the dam and caught a monster (4 lbs) on a top water frog then caught another on a watermelon colored shad jerk bait. Had to go back and get a new battery as the one provided was weak. Started fishing plastics by the dock and caught some big bass. We fished the rest of the lake but no takers except dam and dock. We ended up with 15 for the day. Eight of them were between 3 and 5 pounds. Two of them went over 5 pounds. The remaining fish were all about 14 inches. Just skip your plastics under the dock and hold on. I had one break off when my line rubbed against the steel corroded piling. This entire lake can be fished from the bank. It will be interesting to see what kind of beds are made in the shallow end (which is to the left when you are standing on the dock). Water clarity was 3 to 4 feet and surprised me as I thought it was going to be off colored. The lake is not very deep. Talked with the owner and he said 19 feet near the dam. Most of the water we fished in was 4 to 6 feet at best. Didn’t get the numbers that I like but weight wise we nailed probably 40 pounds for ten Bass. Owner said he was planning on putting in some Tilipia this year.
We could see a 7 pounder come next winter.

This lake is more of a quality fish lake than a numbers lake. There are fish in the 7 lb size. Lots of 4 to 5 lb fish.
